JTF‑Ⅳ is designed to prevent coal spontaneous combustion in goafs and abandoned roadways. Composed of Materials A and B, it forms an inorganic high-water gel with low viscosity. The gel penetrates well, seals leaks, and cools fire zones effectively.
Technical Overview
Purite Ⅳ Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Technology is developed to address coal spontaneous combustion prevention and control in areas such as goafs of steeply inclined working faces, goafs of fully mechanized caving working faces, and abandoned roadways. It is mainly used for sealing air leakage, slurry leakage, hollow cavities, and fractures, as well as cooling spontaneous combustion areas. The technology involves two components—Material A and Material B—each mixed with water in a specific ratio. Through a mine-specific grouting system, these mixtures are processed into an inorganic high-water-content gel. This gel has a low initial viscosity; when injected into broken coal-rock masses and goafs, it exhibits excellent fluidity, permeability, and accumulation performance. Eventually, it forms a dense consolidated body with the coal mass, demonstrating outstanding sealing, heat absorption, and cooling capabilities.
Technical Characteristics
(1) Normal-temperature Reaction and Curing: With innovative technology, neither the material reaction process nor the curing process releases heat to the surrounding environment;
(2) Adjustable Setting Speed: The proportion can be flexibly adjusted according to application requirements to achieve different diffusion radii;
(3) Excellent Sealing Performance: The slurry has low initial viscosity, good diffusion and penetration performance; after setting, it can quickly cure and form a dense consolidated body with coal and rock mass, thus exhibiting excellent sealing performance;
(4) High Moisture Content: The moisture content in the gel is over 95%, featuring excellent high-moisture property and good heat-absorbing and temperature-reducing performance;
(5) Excellent Flame Retardancy and Thermal Stability: Non-combustible and non-combustion-supporting; the consolidated body does not collapse in high-temperature environments;
(6) High Solid-Liquid Ratio: 1 ton of material can fill a space of 20 cubic meters.
Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Performance
(1) Good natural stacking property: The natural stacking angle can reach 40°, indicating good stacking performance. When filling the operation area, it can be stacked to a high place.
(2) Adjustable setting time and diffusion radius: According to application requirements, the water – material ratio can be adjusted within a certain range, so as to adjust different diffusion radii.
(3) Good penetration and leakage – blocking effect: The initial viscosity of the slurry is low, which allows it to freely flow and penetrate within the cracks, fully filling the cracks.
(4) Short phase – change process and controllable diffusion radius: The viscosity is extremely low in the early stage after mixing, so it can diffuse well. After reaching the phase – change node, the transformation from liquid to solid is fast, and the fluidity is quickly lost, avoiding the problem of unlimited diffusion.
(5) High – multiple water – solidification: The highest water – material ratio can reach 20:1, and the water content in the formed quasi – solid can reach 95%. In the natural state, the water in the solid can gradually and slowly evaporate. There is no danger of water – gas explosion, nor is there a hidden danger of grout collapse.
Application Location
(1) Filling and sealing of air leakage channels in the goafs at the upper and lower corners of the working face;
(2) Filling and sealing of air leakage fractures behind the supports of the working face and in the goaf;
(3) Filling and sealing of abandoned old roadways and closed roadways;
(4) Prevention and control of spontaneous combustion fires in goafs of working faces with large dip angles, downward mining, etc;
(5) Prevention, control and sealing of spontaneous combustion fires in gangue dumps.
Application Process
Purite Ⅳ Material A and Material B are respectively added to the Purite preparation system at a certain proportion (water-cement ratio of 3~20:1), so as to produce Purite Ⅳ.
