Spraying on coal pile surfaces forms a dense 2–5 mm thick protective film, which encloses coal, prevents wind and isolates air. On the basis of sealing, inert gases (N₂, CO₂) can be injected into the coal pile simultaneously to enhance prevention and control effects.

Coal Oxygen Inhibitor is mixed with water and sprayed on the surface of coal, forming a polymer protective film on the surface of coal.The protective film has multiple effects, not only can isolate the coal oxygen contact, inhibit the sponta- neous combustion of coal, prolong the coal storage cycle, but also can play a role in dust suppression, reduce the weight loss caused by coal dust and wind and rain erosion in the process of coal transportation.

For the prevention and control of spontaneous combustion during coal storage and transportation, the YSBZ slope compaction device is mainly applied in temporary commercial coal storage yards of heating companies, ports, power plants, cement plants, coal washing plants, coking plants and other storage and transportation links.
