System Overview
The main coal-producing processes of the fully mechanized mining face include shearer coal cutting, support movement, transportation and transfer. The dust suppression of the fully mechanized mining face consists of the shearer spray assembly, hydraulic support spray assembly, transfer point spray assembly, return airway dust suppression assembly, and mine-used liquid adding device.

System Composition
(1) Shearer Spray Dust Suppression Device
This device is mainly composed of key equipment such as a shearer infrared emitter, shearer infrared receiver, pressure sensor, sub-control box, spray water curtain, and automatic liquid adding device. The system composition is shown in the diagram. It has the function of linkage fixed-point spray dust suppression with the shearer.
For the linkage fixed-point spray dust suppression with the shearer: During the coal cutting and moving process of the shearer, the emitter installed on the machine body can send signals to the sub-control box according to the moving direction and position. The sub-control box that receives the signals turns on or off the corresponding sprays on the supports based on these signals, forming a water curtain that can move with the shearer at the lower sealing end of the shearer. The spraying time is custom-set according to on-site conditions, which can effectively block and settle the large amount of dust generated by the shearer operation, realizing the linkage operation of the shearer and the inter-support sprays.
The Syriver dust suppressant is added to the shearer’s dust suppression spray water through the ZJT-20/8 mine-used liquid adding device for coal mines. This reduces the surface tension of water molecules, improves the dust wetting effect, enhances the dust capture efficiency, and increases the comprehensive dust suppression rate of the spray.

(2) Shearer Foam Dust Suppression Device
The shearer foam dust suppression device is mainly composed of four parts: a foam generation device, a foam distributor, a foam spraying device, and linkage control. It can adjust the foam generation amount according to the shearer model and on-site conditions of the fully mechanized mining face. The foam wraps the shearer’s cutting drum to effectively suppress dust generation.
